The Great Reading Adventure

We are learning to write a moment in time about our class assembly, 'The Great Reading Adventure'.

The time has come because I have been waiting for this. When it was my time I felt very shy and nervous and my name was Sophie and I was scared too. When mum got here I felt so happy so I never felt shy or scared or nervous. But then it was my turn, my stomach  had butterflies in it  and  it did not feel good. When I said my part I felt so so nervous that I could not even move. When it was my turn I said what is that noise? and he said quick hide and I like that  part because he chucks the blanket over me and  I like the feel of it. When we were done we were so proud of ourselves and  I loved doing shows now because they are so fun to do. When I did that we went back down and I had a big rest and when I had a big rest I took my onesy off because it was hot. When I got picked up I said goodbye to my friends and I went to sleep in my car.

 

Tsunami Evacuation

 We wrote a recount about our evacuation experience. WALT add details to our writing and edit carefully.

When we were at school we were doing our free writing Friday and when we were doing that a warning came up on our teacher's phone and the warning was that maybe a Tsunami is coming so we evacuated. Some of us thought it was a treasure hunt but it was not a treasure hunt because we had to move fast. 

When we moved fast, some people in Te Kauru started to cry  and it was Cleo and Liv because they lived right next to the beach so I went to cuddle them. When we walked by the hill we jumped over the gate and then we walked fast and some of us started to get hot because it was a hot day. When we were half way up the hill we sat down to have a little break and when we had a little break we got back up and then went up some more. When we were up the hill we sat down to eat morning tea and one of the parents brought  us a big water bottle for us and I think Sir brought the milk. 

It started to get hot and then Sir brought the gazebo over and when he brought the gazebo over we were so happy like super happy. When he brought the gazebo everyone went down so we could get some shade. When we got in the shade we were so happy and we got a sausage and everyone were so amazed by that. Some people said that they want to go back home because we're tired and the other people want to stay here for ever but we had to go back home or our mums and dads will be super worried. 

When the tsunami was finished we went back down the hill and I was the fastest one . When I was by the gate I jumped over and then my class came over so when they came over we walked on the road to get to the other side and when we got on the other side we walked in the grass. When we got to school we were so amazed because we  were not up the mountain anymore. Some people went back home  we went on a bus that look so so amazing. When it was my bus stop I was so happy  that I got off the  bus and hugged my mum because I missed her.

Tractor Trek

When we went to  the field we were so surprised because there were lots of tractors and they were so big. Me and my friend hopped on a lot of tracks and some of them were so cool  and I like the red one. One of them was from the army. And everyone went in that one the most and I did get a turn but some of them got stuck so I was the one that got out. We had to get out because they were leaving then we were so sad.

When we were done at the Tractor Trek we went to the assembly and we learning about feelings with a lady called Cat. It was so fun  learning about feelings. Cat got sad  when she was little because no one wanted to play with her because she moved. When she was done doing her story she let us go back outside to see the TRACK TREK!!! And It was fun with her and the tractors.
